Conquest of Azeroth is a free-to-play Classic+ MMORPG private server developed by Ascension, launching July 3, 2026. It features 21 custom classes, 69 specializations, a level 60 cap, Manastorm high-risk mode, ranked PvP arenas in 1v1/2v2/3v3, and the Hybrid Risk talent system. Play on PC via the Ascension Launcher at ascension.gg.

There is no single best class — each of the 21 custom classes excels in different content. Shadow Walker dominates PvP burst, Crusader is a top-tier tank, Priest is the strongest healer, and Elementalist leads ranged DPS. Follow the optimized leveling paths in our zone guide, focus on quest hubs rather than grinding, use rest XP by logging out in inns, and run dungeons at appropriate level ranges for bonus XP. The level cap is 60, and most classes level fastest with a DPS-focused talent build.

Shaman and Druid are the best starter classes — both are versatile and forgiving. Shaman provides strong group utility through totems, while Druid can fill any role through shapeshifting. For pure DPS, Ranger is the most beginner-friendly with its pet off-tank and kiting tools.

Conquest of Azeroth uses an expanded talent tree system with the unique Hybrid Risk mechanic. You can invest points across multiple talent trees to create hybrid builds that combine abilities from different specs. Hybrid Risk rewards bold cross-spec combinations with powerful synergy effects, but poor hybrid builds underperform — plan carefully.

Manastorm is a high-risk progressive mode where difficulty escalates as you advance. It features permadeath stakes — dying in Manastorm can result in permanent character loss or gear forfeiture. The rewards are exclusive items and loot unavailable in normal gameplay. Only experienced players should enter the Manastorm.

Hybrid Risk is Conquest of Azeroth's unique talent system that allows cross-tree point investment. Instead of being locked into a single spec, you can combine talents from different trees to create custom hybrid builds. Successful hybrid combinations unlock powerful synergy effects, but spreading points too thin results in weaker characters — risk versus reward.

Conquest of Azeroth features ranked PvP arenas in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 brackets. Players earn arena rating through wins, climb seasonal ladders, and receive honor and PvP gear rewards. Arena matchmaking is rating-based, and each bracket has its own seasonal leaderboard. Join the arena queue from any major city.

At launch, Conquest of Azeroth includes Molten Core and Zul'Gurub as primary raid content, with additional raids planned for future updates. Molten Core features 10 bosses culminating in Ragnaros, while ZG offers a 20-player troll-themed raid with Hakkar the Soulflayer.

Conquest of Azeroth features 8 playable races split across two factions: Alliance (Human, Night Elf, Dwarf, Gnome) and Horde (Orc, Undead, Tauren, Troll). Each race has unique racial abilities that complement certain classes and playstyles.
